WHOLESALE · TUXEDO · BLACK TIE
Tuxedo Manufacturer
For European bridal retailers, rental chains, and ceremony specialists
The tuxedo is the most construction-sensitive garment in menswear. A good tuxedo drapes correctly under photography lighting, retains its lines through an evening of movement, and lasts through dozens of rentals or several years of ceremonial use. Savas Textile manufactures black-tie at the construction level that bridal and rental retailers require.
Three core silhouettes. Classic single-breasted with peak lapel — the wedding standard. Single-breasted notch lapel — softer, used at semi-formal events. Single-breasted shawl collar — the most flattering tuxedo cut on stockier frames, increasingly popular for groom-only photography. Double-breasted peak lapel for the formal-dinner segment.
Lapel facing. Satin (traditional), grosgrain (modern, less reflective), self-fabric (for shawl collar variations). All satin facings are turn-and-stitched, not bonded — survives multiple dry-cleans without lifting.
Fabric weight and weave. Standard wool barathea (340 GSM, our staple weight). Lightweight wool mohair blend (280 GSM, summer ceremony). Heavyweight 100% wool (380 GSM, premium tier). All in midnight blue or jet black — we discourage 'black tuxedo' that's actually charcoal, as it photographs poorly next to a white shirt.
Rental-grade vs retail-grade options. Rental-grade includes reinforced seat seam, double-stitched waistband, hidden alteration allowance for size adjustments across rentals. Retail-grade is standard construction. Spec at order — both at similar pricing, just different durability engineering.

Buyer Questions
- Midnight blue or black — which sells better?
- Midnight blue photographs as truer black under tungsten and flash than actual black does — it's why high-end tuxedos have been midnight blue since the 1920s. We default to midnight blue, supply black on request.
- How many rentals can a rental-grade tuxedo handle?
- 8-15 rentals before retirement, depending on customer care and dry-cleaning quality. Each rental should include light pressing, deeper dry-clean every 3-4 wears.
- Matching trouser stripes?
- Satin or grosgrain side stripes standard on rental-grade. Optional on retail-grade. Stripe must match the lapel facing material — we coordinate.
